Decals wanted.

I'm on the hunt for markings for a British police car. It should be in either 1/24 or 1/18. I'm planing to do a Mitsubishi Lancer in police markings.

So does anyone know of a source of these or some company that custom makes them?

Thankful for answer.

I can't say that there aren't sets of markings made for British police cars, but I suspect you're going to have to use other methods like solid color decal films and dry transfers.

Got any pics of the scheme you're looking to do? It would of course help alot.

My idea was to do something like this:

Re: Decals wanted.

Well, the way I'd go about it is to paint the car white first (obviously). Then the yellow and blue squares could be put on by first masking and painting a suitable yellow and then covering it in places with squares of blue decal film.

Or you could do the yellow in decal film first, then apply the blue film. It looks to me that this may be similar to how the scheme may be applied to the real cars.

Lettering could be done with dry transfers (availible at decent art stores in countless sizes and fonts). But I don't know much about other UK Police specific markings (like the ones in the rear quarter windows).

Re: Decals wanted.

I believe it is individual coloured stickers on the real car, however the problem I can see, is actually managing to replicate the glow of the colours, as they seem to be almost fluorescent in real life.

They are fluorescent, and at least the markings used here in Sweden, reflective as well.

Exclamation Re: Decals wanted.

Hello Thomas,
try this link:

Search for decals P-Z. They have some British police markings.

But I canīt tell you about the quality.

Re: Decals wanted.

The part with the reflective/fluorecent markings have been solved. I contacted the manufacturer of the material and I should be getting a couple of sheets in the mail any other day.
