My radio won't turn off!!!
For some reason my radio will not turn off nor will my dome light come on when I open the driver side door. Does anybody know where the switch/sensor is in the door? Is it by the hinge or or the lock?
Also, when I decide to replace my factory radio, can I still use the door feature.

Re: My radio won't turn off!!!
I've had vehicles before where they've either exhibited this problem, or the opposite... e.g: you'll be driving along and the "door ajar" light and interior dome light will come on!
Lots of WD-40 sprayed in the lock mechanism has solved both issues for me in the past, but I do live on a gravel road, and there's plenty dust around to clog things up. Who knows? Just my $0.02! |

Re: My radio won't turn off!!!
I had this problem on my 99' with the passenger door. Turns out the Lock mechanism wiring was broken in the switch. There was no way to replace it as it was corroded right off. I purchased a new OEM one ($60 if I recall correctly) and it installed in about 30 min. It's actually a very easy part to replace.

Re: My radio won't turn off!!!
You might try to remove the radio fuse from the fuse box under the hood and then put back after a few seconds. Had the same problem after my alarm went off for no reason. Haven't had any problems since.
