just got a cherokee

so im more of a firebird/camaro kinda guy..so i really dont know anything about jeeps...but anyways...i just got a 77 cherokee with i think a 5.9 litre..correct me if its diff. well i got it for pretty much free..its gunna be my mud truck...will that hold up good if i beat on it a little? does it have a posi rearend/front end? do i have to worry about axels or driveshafts breaking in the mud? just trying to get a little more educated.. Thats soo much

I must say, that is a different breed of Cherokee. The XJ body was manufactured from 1984 to 2001 model years. All the mechancal and electronics are totally different, FYI.

That model, is basically vintage American iron resembling vehicles made when I got into the auto industry about 40 years ago!

Unless you got a rare one or a modified one I thought the 77's were 2wd not 4.
