Progress pics: Revell Corvette Z06

Yeah, I'm still pretty new to this so go easy on me.

PS: The body doesn't have another mirror because the other one is still drying.

Cool Coming along nicely

Looks better than when I started. Its coming along just fine.

I sure wish the internet and AF was around to help me out 15 years ago. This forum's got a lot of cool people to help along your progress.

Looks awesome. I've built the same kit, but I remember a lot of the suspension parts were pretty thin, plus painting the seats sucks because it seems like the tiny grooves channel paint OUT of where you want it to be.

Nice work! I got the same kit but I am going to put it aside for now to wait for my skills to get better. There is two things that I didn't like about the kit from what I can see. Revell took the engine from a stock 'Vette put it in this kit. If you look at a real Z06's engine cover (right cover if you were looking at the car head on), there is only one wire coming out from it and making a 90 degree turn into the firewall but Revell's has the standard 'Vette's two wires coming out the engine cover. No biggie though as I can correct this. The second is that the decals are really poorly printed. Overall though, it's a nice kit to have.

Nice Corvette. It's looking good so far. I have started mine a while back, and I chose yellow for the body color as well. As far as I can see everything on yours looks good.

It's Testors yellow, thanks for the good feedback guys. You can't see the bubbles and orange peel, though..

I really need a Gundam Marker. You can't see the sloppy job I did on the "Corvette" on the engine cover with a toothpick..

If you're trying to highlight the raised Corvette on the engine cover, try this: Dip your brush in black paint, then squeeze the brush in a napkin until it's dry. Then lightly brush it over the Corvette symbol, and it should come out alright.

What happens is the thinner gets soaked up by the napkin, and only pigment is left on the brush.

Great job looks killer. I built this same kit and painted it yellow with a cream interior but it dose not look as good as yours. Keep up the good work.
