What primer for Tamiya TS paint?

So as the Houston modelers have lost a great hobby shop, I'm trying to find out which primer is good for my TS paints since I'm almost out of the Tamiya primer and have no source for Tamiya paint.
Any suggestions? $.96 Walmart primer?

btw I searched and came up with nothing.

Re: What primer for Tamiya TS paint?

I use dupli color and krylon sometimes and it works for me, just make sure its fully dry. Experiment with other primers before using it on a body, i learned the hard way.

Re: What primer for Tamiya TS paint?

You can order it online at different places. I had a big order with HLJ and threw in some paints.

I use Tamiya as well as plasti-kote T-237(white) and T-235(gray). Both have worked great with TS paints.

What a shame to lose a Hobby Shop in such a big city.

Re: What primer for Tamiya TS paint?

Duplicolor is the greatest primer for me. The sandable type primer maybe a bit too dark if you paint light colors like white, red and yellow, but I almost always use it. I use Krylon white primer sometimes, but I really prefer Duplicolor.

The duplicolor white and grey primers go down great. I just used the white with TS-8 and it came out great. Costs a little more than walmart primer, but MUUUUCH cheaper than Tamiya.
