76 vette hot feet

hello..recently purchased a 76 vette (good codition) and driving it back from Indiana to Alabama my feet got hot sitting on floor..I know I have a crack in my floor pan but the heat seemed to be coming from all over...Is manifold/exhaust pipes causing this or is my heater stuck on...not much working on heater right now for this is a project vehicle....Thanks,Pete

Re: 76 vette hot feet

Pete,
I also have a 76 and have noticed heat coming from, well, somewhere. I'm not terribly mechanically inclined, but my inspection, as well as that of my mechanic have turned up nothing. I've read something about the a/c ducts getting heated and thus blowing hot air into the cabin, but have yet to find a fix. I'd be interested in any solution you find, so please let me know if you find something that works.
