95 Gs-T keeps blowing 30 amp ignition fuse

My buddies Gs-T keeps blowing his ignition fuse when the key is turned to the on position. Obviously something is grounding out, but we spent 2 hrs tracing wires and couldn't find anything. I read somebody on dsm talk having the same problem. They said they disconnected the turbo timer and fixed the problem. It didnt work with his. He said he had a CEL before the car cut off, but we can't check for a code since the fuse keeps blowing. Does anybody know of a fix for this problem, or a way to check the trouble codes without this fuse?

Re: 95 Gs-T keeps blowing 30 amp ignition fuse

Have you taken apart the fuse box and looked at all of the wiring on the underside of it. Thats what I had to do when I kept blowing a fuseable link. It turned out that a wire had gotten pinched inside the box where it connected to the fuse, causing it to blow every time I pluged a fuse in.

Re: 95 Gs-T keeps blowing 30 amp ignition fuse

Well he ended up finding his problem. It was a capacitor inline with that fuse goin to the ignition coils. On a side note, we installed my bc 272's tonight, im satisfied with the results. Just need a good tune and some meth injection then its off to the track
