old school's been doing me good

I have a 1979 chevy malibu that i keep in black primer so the guy next to me thinks its a rustbucket. He's got a 2005 or 2006 mustang gt (looked like daddy bought it for him) I reved and my 350 rumbled enough to let him know i wasn't fooling, but the moron was waay too confident Redlight turned green he punched it...my 410 hp took care of him in a hurry.
I was sure i would be able to beat him, but he obviously doesn't have much experience. Mustangs can be really quick, but daddy's mustang wasn't too beastly when i got done with it.

Re: old school's been doing me good

ha, actually i just have it bored and stroked 30 over and put a top end kit in it there's a few more little addons but basically that's the bulk of it
nowhere near all of that is getting to the rear wheels

Re: old school's been doing me good

So, it's a 355 with an Intake and Carb?

Or by top end, do you mean Heads, Intake, Carb... and possibly a cam?

Re: old school's been doing me good

Which set of heads, Performer heads?

Edelbrock Performer Dual plane? Or is it the Performer RPM? Or Airgap?

Which cam?

What compression ratio are you running? Or do you know? And do you have an exhaust system?

Hmm, What transmission are you running? '79 Malibu probably had a TH350... still have the stock converter?

Re: old school's been doing me good

sorry but im not even sure man, i just got the thing not too long ago
im not sure of the exact parts but it was getting 410 at the crank in the dyno
i got the parts cheap so i put them on...im not too advanced with the numbers...all i know is how to put it togeather and drive it.
ill figure it out what the exact parts are
there's a lot of mix and match going on in my car
i have a manual transmition in in now with a hurst short shift but again i don't know the exact transmition(all i know is the shifter was a pain to get to work without locking up in second)

Re: old school's been doing me good

its a four speed
yeah it's kindof sloppy inside from where the hole was cut for the shifter
but it works very well

and i found the others
Performer RPM Hydraulic Cams & Lifters
Performer RPM Heads
and a RPM Air-Gap intake manifold

Are the heads Aluminum or Steel?

Interesting setup you've got. I agree, I'd like to see pictures of it as well.

Re: old school's been doing me good

Joshy knows how to get my motor going...

Talk horsepower to me Joshypoo...

On a serious note... if he can answer my barrage of questions it lessens the chance I'll call BS on him. So far, I haven't heard of many cars thrown together with 'parts laying around' that happened to be, as far as mild small blocks go, near top of the line products.

Interestingly interesting...
