Mystery Plug

I just got done replacing my ignition switch on my 97 regal LS, and while on the floor looking up I notice a loose plug hanging. Has 2 wires comming out, one is black and the other is green with a white stripe. It has the letters PED on it along with A and B above where the wires plug into. Everything I tested after the replacement seems to work so I wasn't sure if I just didn't notice it before or if it came off during the ignition switch R&R.

In the reply below I will post 2 pics of the plug From the side/front.

Re: Mystery Plug

It is not used so I would not worry about it.

Re: Mystery Plug

Looks like part of the shift interlock system.

If I'm correct, this may be a extra connector to a harness that can be either used on a Centry/Intrigue (on column) OR a Regal (on console) allowing interchangability to install in different models at factory.
When you press the brake pedal the shifter can come out of park.
It has the same A B... and comes from Brake PEDal and GReen/White wire.

What ME worry? NO.. unless your shift interlock when you press your brake pedal has quit.

Sorry but you are absolutely 100% incorrect and by your own admission not a Regal expert nor any Buick for that matter that I have seen. You should worry about your own incompetence in giving dumb advice. Did we not have a discussion about this in the past?

It is a connector not used that is part of the multifunction switch.
