Revin out

my 3.4 94 has been runnin great no problems till the other night... i went out to crank it and on the second turnover it backfired.. which it has never done... i stopped... then tried it again and when it cranked the motor just tried to redline on me like the throttle was wide open but checked that and it wasnt it... it also sounded like the starter stayed engaged... so i took it off went and got it checked and they said it was fine... took it home and put it back on... but when i went to hook the battery back up, the engine started spinnin as soon as i touched the positive cable to the battery... now i cant hook up the battery with out it tring to turn over... anybody got any ideas.. someone said the ignition could be stickin but i have no clue...

Re: Revin out

yeah. sounds like the ignition is eithier always on or the starter solenoid is shorted out.. i dont know of a easy trick to find which is which.. lol.. you could always take out the ign. and check to see if the 'starter' wire has cont. with 12+ but..that takes a while.

and i dont get what you mean by it tried to redline on you..

it sounded liem it was redlining? or the tach actually jumped up
