Re: master cylinders

you can use the booster and mc from a 90-93 non abs teg. BTW, you can also just use the 88 or 89 accord m/c it bolts right up to the civic booster and really gives you a lot extra stopping power. Much easier than taking out the booster. The accord is a fifteen-sixteenths aswell but the bolt holes line up to the civics booster whereas the tegs do not

Re: master cylinders

also is the number on the side of the master cylinder the bore. because if thats the case then its already got a 15/16th bore on it.

Re: master cylinders

Check out this link:http://www.ef-honda.com/ben/EFhybridsus.php

It will answer any questions you have about brakes and suspension interchangability for acura/hondas. Sounds like you already have the right m/c. I thought the sedan was the only 4th gen with that m/c..maybe someone slapped it on there before you got it. I think you use 88-90 prelude, 4th gen ex sedans, and the 88-90 accord..they are all the same and when you think about it. Upgrading the booster just to get the fifteen-sixteenths booster on from the teg makes no sense when you can slap the same sized m/c from another honda on your stock booster. My pedal is nice and soft and many others have swapped just the m/c with great success. Probably the only thing you need up front is the 40/40 prop valve

Re: master cylinders

Get a master cylinder for a 90-91 Civic 4Dr EX - it has the 15/16 master cylinder stock. I just picked up a remanufactured one from schucks for $55. They had to search around for the 15/16 one, but they found one. Same price as the smaller one. That's what I would do.

Re: master cylinders

that is strange for sure. No doubt if you were to order an oem replacement you would see what I mean about the 13/16 being stock. Unless your brakes are too hard or something just stay away from the booster. Its up to you but I've heard with the bigger boosters you have to take the IM off to get them in there. Some have said they made abs parts work, most knowledgeable people say they will not work. I've never heard anyone putting a prelude m/c on though. Most use the m/c cause it bolts directly to the stock booster. Like the guy above said they are 55 bucks new so I wouldn't go wasting your time with junkyard stuff when a new one is so cheap
