Diesel Accent

Hello Readers...

I'm wondering if any of might have any information concerning a transplant I would like to try with a 2005 Accent GL automatic.

I would like to purchase from an european dealer an entire NEW diesel engine and manual transmission, with the ECU as well for the 2005/2006 european diesel accent... and then the real fun would begin.

As a hobby (that will probably drive me crazy) I would like to pull out my 1.6L gas engine and auto transmission and install the diesel engine with manual transmission.

Anybody here might know what else is necessary for such a transplant? I'm sure this will be a huge job. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I konw that it would be cheaper just to buy a 2006 diesel Accent in Europe and import it to Canada... but I can't. Transport Canada does not allow the importation of any vehicle if it's not from the U.S. unless the vehicle is over 15 years old...

Cheers, Liger.
