Rear end noise
My 98 JGC limited has 141k miles and has a tremendous amount of rear end noise. At first I thought it was due to poor tire choice but now know that's not the cause. There isn't any front end noise at all. Also have a whooing noise when sharp turning at very slow speeds. Can anyone give me a clue as to the cause? Thanks

Re: Rear end noise
It is probally the carrier bearings, axle bearings or a bad tire.A bad tire will do that also.

Re: Rear end noise
I also have a 98 JGC and this past spring I had the noise in the back end. I ended up having to get the whole rear end rebuilt. All the bearings in the back were shot and in pieces.

Re: Rear end noise
Has anyone heard of the axle itself going bad? Also think it might be wheel bearings, but don't know that either.
