First gen engine swap

I have a 1989 Ford Escort GT. I was wondering if I could put my engine into a newer second gen Escort, and if so, what would I need to do it?

Your 1.9 HO from the 1G is simular to the 91-96 1.9 SEFI, both from the CVH family. But Ford changed all of the electrical, sensors and ignition system. So the swap would not be worth the work. But the 97 2.0 SPI motor is a easy swap for the 2nd gen LX and makes 110hp/125ftlbs.
