Coolant Temp. Sensor..

Hi,

I just pull out a coolant temperature sensor out of a 98' Pontiac GP SE and was curious if it would fit into my 00' Pontiac GP SE. Even though the part is not new b/c I got from the junk yard. Do you think its a good idea to put it into my car or purchase a brand new one. Since the car at the junk yard had 200Km on the engine.

Re: Coolant Temp. Sensor..

in theory both the motors are the same, and it should work. However the ect sensor is only 15 bux tops. I would just go buy a new one if your having problems.

If you do decided to do the spaw, make sure that you clean off the threads of the one going in you daily driver and install some new high temp silicone. No pipe dope or teflon take here.
