About to be on the market for a 4th gen SI

Im selling my mx6 and gettin a 4th gen prelude si. My mx6 is fast and looks good but the miles are too high and repairs cost too much, and ive always loved the 4th gen ludes. im gonna be spending 3500-4000 on a 92 probably si....what should i look for when i go and look at these?

I say good luck on finding a 92 SI for 4000.. Unless you want it to be an automatic with 200 thousand miles on it. I don't know about mass, but i barely squeeked by with $5500 on my SI, and it had 150 thou. Sell your car, take out a bank loan, and buy a quality lude. The 4th gens are great though, especially the '92, you have good taste.

As for what to look for... Run a carfax report, ask to see any papers he has on it, make sure the clutch is good. Ask him if there's anything you should know about it also. Take someone who knows what they are doing. Good luck.

I just spend about 6500 on my 92 si 4ws with 65k miles on it. I think I got a good deal, and I bought it in mass.

Not to be rude.

But why say at the beginning that you are selling your car and in your last post that you are not sure.

Please come back when the clouds have lifted. :flash:

either you guys got ripped off or i got a really really good deal. I got a 92 lude SI for guess............ 3 GRAND. yup. it had 107 k miles on it and a broken A/C. I know it blue books a lot hihger. My car definitely isnt a piece of sh*t either. Runs perfectly. I bought it from a single owned female driver that changed the oil every 3 thousand miles. it was a special deal that i got through a friend of my mom. I tell you that it is perfect condition besides the A/C the clutch sticks like a mofo. I guess it all depends on being patient in finding a good deal on a prelude. I got really really lucky. When i sell it in about 4 years i will be able to sell it for the same price or maybe more. The woman that sold it to me must have been pretty dumb

That is a pretty DAMN good deal. I still think $5500 is a great deal because I've been seeing 92 SI's going for upwards of 8 grand. Especially modded ones. Must be in high demand in washington.

I got a great deal on mine, especially with the 4ws. I never see those anywhere. Plus the low miles on it, made the deal. Just keep your eyes out and you can find them.
