97 Lesabre(limited) climate controller problem

After a brief battery disconnect, the climate control display flashes for approx. 1 minute then remains constant after each engine start. The A/C, heater output very seldom matches the input values. For example, the heater is on when the display is set for a/c and visa versa. However, once the display stops flashing, the output rights itself and functions correctly thereafter. My question is: due to the brief loss of power does the climate control computer need to be reset? If so, what is the proper procedure for this model year('97)?
