Paint Job

Has anyone had a professional paint job done to their car? How much does it cost?

I had Maaco do it, it cost $900 including some body work, and it looks like shit. its been done for about 1 1/2 years and there are bubbles on the back left fender and the hood is chipped to hell.

I had my car painted.

Cost me $3200 to have them paint it and put my kit on. It was a color change, so they had to do the door jams, mirrors, handles, etc. Plus they fixed all of the dings, dents, and there were 2 buckles just above the rear wheels from when I got rearended. They did a very nice job, and they told me that they actually did about $4600 worth of work.

I told them that if they did a good job and gave me a good deal, I'd be sending people their way, so they hooked me up.

Not true.

I can spend say, $400 on paint, and do a $4000 paint job.

Yeah I knew it wasn't going to be a ver good paint job, but I had the money at the time thanks to a tax return and since I got the paint job I realized that I didnt want my car to be bright f'n yellow anymore so I would consider it worht it i guess, in a wierd sort of way.
P.S. I apologize for any typos i missed im slightly (read very)drunk at the moment and i tried my best.

What I want is my panels to match..... And to do this basically it will take painting the whole car...... I want to do my silver color with a bronze or copper tint to the glaze (JDMness ) I don't think the roof needs to be painted but it might look weird if it didnt match . I would think they would strip my paint to do this? Or will they paint over my existing paint after they take the clear coat off? I am not shure about how painting works. But thanks for all your replies!

I had mine done for a $1000 too...shaved emblems and rear wipers, fixed small dent on plastic bumper, repainted all mouldings black and window trim, painted both mirrors red.:flash: It's decent but I know I could have gotten a better quality for twice the money...

So you think $2000-3000 would be a good price for a my paint job? How hard is it to color match my Front conversion with my existing paint in case I decide not to get a full paint job?

tough call man...its a risk to just let em match it but if you have the dough, $2K should be good enough to paint the whole car.
