Starter problem?

My wife recently took a trip with my '95 Blazer, and on the way back she broke down, about 7 hours from home. A bunch of people at the rest stop tried to help her get it going, from what I heard none of them had a clue what they were doing.

Apparently one of these idiots cranked the engine for almost 2 minutes straight! The starter in my car was replaced less than a year ago...am I looking at replacing it again soon?
