95 Jimmy..... Fuel pump
Fuel pump went out 3 1/2 weeks ago. The new pump mechanic installed started humming loudly and went out 2 weeks later...... installed another a week ago and it is a loud one too. Worried. Any ideas? I have read on another thread that aftermarket pumps are trouble and this is not uncommon.

Re: 95 Jimmy..... Fuel pump
You are right O.E. is the only way to go.
Also check the connector, they burn up also. |

Re: 95 Jimmy..... Fuel pump
Hey Marc... Mechanic today said that if this one goes out that he is going to start checking for blockages in the lines..... what is your thoughts..... Also said he would replace with a O.E. part if that is what I wanted but in his experiance, does not make much diff.

Re: 95 Jimmy..... Fuel pump
Blockage in the lines is rare except from colision or cloged fuel filter.
A quick fuel pressure and volume test will tell. Problems like this and long crank times are why I use O.E. It may cost a bit more but my customers and I are happy. |
