Car doesn't crank

Hi all.
Basically here is my problem. I just bought a used steering column for my 94 firebird. The column came from 96 Camaro.
I made the swap yesterday, everything worked except for the key. The computer and the fuel pump start fine the gauges power up but the engine doesn’t turn over. The security light also came on and stayed on for about 3 minutes after the key has been removed from ignition.
Thinking that might be a key chip/ reader I pulled the cylinder from my old column (which ran fine) and swapped it. Now the security light doesn't come on but the car still doesn’t crank.
P.S. My old steering wheel didn't have an airbag and airbag module was never connected since I bought the car. The new wheel does have the airbag but it is still not connected.

I may be wrong on this, but I think your 94 is eqioped with VATS and a 96 and up is Passkey and I don't think they are interchangeable

Thanks. Yes you are right they are equiped with vats. The deal is that I moved the original key and cylinder back on it, but its still a no-go

Bypass it, we just covered this in a thread about a week ago.
