Exclamation ok.. soo clickedy clickedy stall

ok, so background: I just completed my 60k tune, everything seemed to be going good... dun dun duuunnn...

Ok, so today I drove to work, no problems, drove t the store, no problems, then I was leaving the store ad I heard a click inside the cabin and my engine tried to die. Then i got it started with not too much trouble, however this became a recurring theme all the way home at random intervals until i gave up, parked and called for a ride.

when its running it is running perfect, so i dont think its the timing, im not sure what else i could have messed up doing the 60k that would make this happen, or if it is unrelated, help please.

I seatched and Igo had made a post about a starter relay, but it starts sometimes, and will run for a while... what gives?

Re: ok.. soo clickedy clickedy stall

so, i kept searching threads and the only thing i came up with was a loose battery connection, but that wasnt it... It will start, then run normal for a little bit (durration varies) then theres a couple clicks in the cabin that sound like they are from the radio area.. then it dies. then its hard pressed to get it started for awhile but its possible, yet the same thing happens. WTF!?

I really dont want to have to tow it to a shop, I'm hoping i can figure this out this weekend .

Re: ok.. soo clickedy clickedy stall

sounds like exactly what happens to my stealth, i'm more or less trouble shooting right now, all i know is i'm not getting fuel to the engine.
check to see if you're getting fuel to it(yes i know it's starting) but if fuel can build up between X(whats wrong) and the engine, it'll run on that, then give out.
i just got some random fuel filter today, yet to install it. i'm really on here for a directional site on how to do it. but noticed your problem.

note it's not random, it's just a generic fuel filter for a stealth turbo

Stealth 316 and rubberduckyracing both have good guides on changin g the fuel filter.

the engine is getting fuel, it will run for up to 5 min at a time.. it has something to do with the weird click inside the cabin. Very odd.

Re: ok.. soo clickedy clickedy stall

If the clicking is coming from the right of the center console, it is very likely the MFI relay making the noise. Check the relay and socket. If they are in good condition, than you have to start checking your wiring. At least that is how I would start. Good luck.

Re: ok.. soo clickedy clickedy stall

ok, so im going to pull the ecu and check the caps, how do i check the MFI relay though? just visual inspection? how is it supposed to work?

I was doing research on the ecu and it said sometimes it can be the fuel pump.. i may change that also, i dont think its ever been replaced.
