amp help

Hey guys. Ok i feel like such a n00b asking about how to install an amp. I want to amp out my front door speakers. I have a 2 channel 300 watt (roughly 150 per channel peak) amp that i am going to use. Now before i get some hot head in here that thinks hes god let me explain this. I am not a n00b so i should understand what you guys say when you write back. I have 2 12" JL audio w3's - D2 running on a 500.2 rockford fosgate amp. I installed everything my self. This is my 3rd set of subs. This is also the only set that hits this HARD. That is why i am going to amp out my indoors. I just need to know where i run the RCA's from since the inputs are RCA's. Do i just tap into the speaker wire or something? i have never installed a high and mid amp so im clueless. id like to do it tonight so please respond a.s.a.p. TY for any help you can give. p'z

Do you have a stock HU or aftermarket? Most aftermarket have at least 2 RCA outputs/one for sub amp and one for your front speakers...Tap the RCAs there, if you don't have them, you have to get an adaptor and tap into the speaker wire, which works, but I suggest an aftermarket HU with multiple outputs, as it has a cleaner sound and more power to the amp...

We are always glad to help people, regardless of their knowledge level.

To hook up an amp for mid/tweets is the same as a bass amp .... you need an input from the head unit to go into the amp RCA connectors, and wire the speakers to the amps speaker outputs. DO NOT loop them together with the decks speaker outputs. Then you just need power, ground and an auto turn-on wire.

well if its got 3 sets, then im pretty sure you have front/rear and a nonfading(sub out). which is perfect. ok, so you have an amp for your subs... and you have that 2-chan for your door speakers right? do you have any rear speakers? if not you can do what i did. i ran a set of rull range and an extra pair of tweeters in the front, and i wired them in parallel to the amp. if you wire them in series the crossover in the tweeter will affect all the speakers its hooked with. or if you want, you can also wire the door speakers to the amp and the tweeters to the HU... that way you can turn the HU up, listen to the tweeters and then adjust the gains on the amp accordingly for the door's.

but if you do wire the doors and tweeters to the amp, depending on the impedence of the speakers you will be changing the amp output, so be careful.

damn thats alot of speakers, but itll work perfectly. just parallel each speaker with a tweeter to each channel(of 4), that way you'll be running all 4chan's @2ohms. just make sure that each speaker/tweeter pair can handle the wattage between them.

the "coolest audio trick" I know of is to MINIMIZE the number of speakers and careful placement of the ones you do use
