Lt1

How can you identify an LT1 motor from any others? We have an '82 Chev C10, when we bought it the guys said it had a '79 LT1 motor in it, but we cannot figure out whether or not it really is short of pulling the motor to look for the serial number. Is there anything that would help us determine whether or not it is or not short of pulling the motor? The truck has balls to spare but it would still be nice to know if it actually is an LT1 or not.
