Question Problem: red hot cat

just wondering if you could help my friend and i out. last week we were in his 95 gst and he raced a turbo civic. after they were done, at the red light his car kept trying to stall like it had a miss or something. we pulled over at the grocery store and looked under the car and saw his cat was glowing bright red! its been kind of puttering and stalling unless he revs it ever since then. anyone know what the problem might be? is this an engine problem or a turbo problem? (his exhaust isnt stock by the way). thanks

If the exhaust or cat is blocked or plugged it could cause an overheat like that. Make sure the cat isn't plugged.
