how much work is involved in swaping engines
am i going to make a mess of my car if i try swiching the engine i have in my 93 civic hatchback with a b18c1 engine. Is there lots of work involved. And if i find an engine, will it cost alot to have put in. Or would i be better off to get some friends to help me out and do it myself

is the b18c1 your getting obd 1 or obd 2. from what ive read, the b18c1 will drop right in without motor mount adapter thingys. if you have taken out a motor before then it should be pretty easy to drop in the b18c1. idk what kind axles you use, you also gotta wire for vtec too

The B18C harness matches up with the 5G Civic harness. make shure you pull the GSR ECU. the CX/DX models with the d15b7/8 will require an aftermarket mount. The b18C motors are hydro trannies so there should be no problem with the tranny, also the Integra GSR or del sol axles could be used. The shift linkage should be taken out of the GSR as well. Or if you don't have a donor car, junkyard or kit.

i thought taht the gsr was a bolt in motor, no mount adapters needed. or its the driver side mount yeah ? but if he is gonna swap a obd2 gsr then he needs to swap in a obd2 engine harness for the extra sensors and stuff. also are you gonna be runnin a obd2 ecu or a obd1 ecu ?
