ls1 vs 05+ mustang gt

i was cruising to my buddy's house in light evening traffic, and a 40ish looking guy pulled up behind me in a red new model drop-top mustang. it had the fog lights on the front so i assumed it was the 4.6L v8,, and after the light turned green he pulled up beside me and I saw the GT badging on the side. the traffic was too dense to race there, and he pulled back and got behind me again, and was tailing a little bit too close, but i could tell he wanted a run. from what I could tell it seemed bone stock. my right turn coming up was a 4-lane road as well, and the stang put his right directional on behind me. as i turned i pulled up to about 30 and held there to see what he would do,, and sure enough as soon as he straightened his car out after the turn i heard his tires chirp and he came up along the left side of me. when he was at my rear bumper i went WOT from 30 (my sweet spot into 2nd gear ). by the time he got up to me neck and neck I just started pulling away. i let off around 70 with maybe 2.5-3 car lenghts on him. i looked in my rear-view mirror and he pulled off on the next right he came up to. that's actually the first 2005+ gt stang i've gotten to run against me.

Re: ls1 vs 05+ mustang gt

Good run and kill. I got behind a vert GT at WOT in my family hauler and wasn't extremely impressed with the performance - though it was probably an auto. Either way, muscle vs muscle you won...way to go. Props.
