New Pontiac Grand Prix owner.

I'm new on the site and I'm a new Pontiac owner. I just bought a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.

The car runs fine and all that good stuff but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or tips in order to maintain my motor as strong as possible?

What kind of motor oil is best for the car? Any type of special maintenance I should do for the supercharger?

Thanks in advance everyone.

Re: New Pontiac Grand Prix owner.

Welcome to AF and the Grand Prix forum.

It would help to post your mileage.

For the Eaton M90 Gen3 supercharger check the SC oil level periodically and replace the oil when in doubt if ever done. I do mine annually.

For engine oil any good quality 10W-30 dino oil or synthetic like Mobil 1. If you decide to use synthetic make sure all engine seals like valve cover, oil pan and rear main seal are good and not leaking before switching over.

yea make a nice sig so you dont have to repeat yourself a million times..beware i hear that supercharger oil can be quite pungent!

first thing i'd recommend is gettin rid of your U-bend and a relocating your coolant overflow bottle and gettin a new intake - both should increase gas mileage..depending on mileage a nice tune up should do the trick
