'96 clicking/pulsing sound on cold start up only

Hello,

When starting my van for the first time each day, I hear a pulsing/clicking noise for 5-6 seconds, then the sound disappears. The van runs great at all times. The noise is not there when the van is warmed up.

I read that it may have something to do with the oil filter/valve. perhaps I need to use a lighter oil like 5w30 and use an oem filter. I use Jiffy Lube for oil changes regulary.

Any other suggestions or confirmations of the problem.

This is common on these vans once the miles get up there. I would use a fram filter/stp and the high miles oil from castrol i believe. Thats just may just be a bad oil pick up. check the oil pan for dents.
