04 power seat control problem

We've been very satisfied with our three Park Avenues. However the present vehicle does have an annoying problem:

The power seat control attached to the (leather) driver's seat will not stay in place. It hangs out with exposed wiring no matter how it's refastened (glue, Gorilla/duct tape).

I don't want to get too aggressive as there must be an intelligent solution. Can anyone offer any suggestions.

Thank you

Re: 04 power seat control problem

My passenger seat had a similar problem...the entire switch assembly (plastic bezel, switches and all) were hanging out the side of the seat. From what the dealer told me, the whole assembly is attached to the seat frame and it was at the frame where the assembly broke off. While having my driver's seat motors replaced, I was able to have the passenger side frame replaced, as well. It was covered by my extended warranty, so I can't tell you how much it would have cost (my repair paperwork doesn't list the costs, only my deductible). Hope this helps.

Smile Re: 04 power seat control problem

I used J-B Weld on mind about a month ago. So far its seems to be working. I am not holding my breath. What color is the bezel? Is it tan or gray or ?? The part itself it only about $11.00 from the dealer. It might take 2 weeks to get the part. Does the seat have power lumbar control?

Re: 04 power seat control problem

A couple of long wood screws carefully placed (one toward the front, one toward the back) will also do the trick...did this on my 97...I think they screwed into some sort of plastic piece. The car does not have the lumbar control. Again, be careful, watch for wires, and note where those screws are going!
