Lightbulb Radio Replacement

I have a 1998 chevy malibu, i was wanting to put a factory CD/Cassette player in it, but the mounts and wiring harness and looks like the dash bezel are different. I believe I can change the mounts but since it looks like it sticks out farther in the dash I'm trying to figure out what i need to do. Has anyone ever attempted this? Or could anyone send me pictures of the dash with the bezel removed so I can see what I need to do to be able to mount the radio and get it to fit? Does it require reprogramming and will a dealership do it or is it something you can do yourself? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Re: Radio Replacement

I have a '05 Classic which should be close to yours. I used an American International GM-K420 install kit and a GWH-416 (?) wiring harness. Also the European to Motorola antenna adapter. Plenty of room behind the orginal bezel. You also need a switched power feed.

The wiring harness is the correct plug, the pins might be wrong, but you can move them by pulling out the wire/pin and moving it ti where it should be.

Of course this is a -05 Classic ('03 and before Malibu).
