98 Ultra vs. 98ish Eclipse

About 20 min ago me and my friend are cruising down the road when a red eclipse with a bodykit and a fartcan cuts me off and continues to drive like a dick. We both make a right turn, he goes to the right lane and I go to the left flying by him to catch his attention. He gets it alright. We come to the light and he looks at me with a big grin on his face... green and were off first 5 sec he's about a car behind, as soon as I shifted to second and my supercharger kicks in all the way I just put about 6 bus length at him. Never saw him again. Another kill for the grandpa mobile

Re: 98 Ultra vs. 98ish Eclipse

depending on the amount of pressure the super is putting into the eng, it'll be on always, but like a turbo not at full blast instantly, that's y my friends saleen is slow off the line, but hual's ass after a 5mph

Re: 98 Ultra vs. 98ish Eclipse

its probably a centrifugal supercharger, the roots type make peak torque at a low RPM, the centrifugal acts more like a turbo making power in the upper powerband.

Re: 98 Ultra vs. 98ish Eclipse

Once I get out of the hole in my car its power is 0-80 and then its like hitting a brick wall on top end...I guess thats why I like to run light to light... Cant get up to that speed usually... I have recently been taking nothing but asswhoopings when I'm racing lately. To sad to post about though...

And 6 bus lengths is a bit over exagerated. If that were the case the guy was for sure not racing you, but nice win in the grampamobile...

No it's got the 3800 Series 2 K engine, definately not centrifugal. Although there is a company in the northeast that builds those engines with a turbo, a local doctor around here brings his Bonneville in with a 3800 Series 2 turbocharged engine, it's a pretty bad ass ride.

Nice kill. I have raced I think it was like an RS or a GS DSM and I think the only way I could have lossed is if I was going in reverse.

I would hope so. They have a neon engine in them with an even heavier body.

Not like theres anything wrong with neon engines. O_o
