Rear valance lip, and aftermarket exhaust....
I plan on getting a Type-R rear lip for my 6th gen Civic coupe sometime soon, but upon thinking about it, was wondering if my A'PEXiWorld Sport exhaust (the tip of it at least) would cause any conflicts with the lip as in clearance issues. Does anyone out there have a rear lip on their 6th gen Civic coupe, and HAVE an aftermarket exhaust installed as well that can tell me if there's a clearance problem or not? Thanks.

I just got a black widdow rear end on my 97 Civic EX and I've got an OBX-R catback. We had to heat the pipe and bend it to get it to clear. The muffler was hitting the back bumper and causing a lot of vibration... not to mention the fact that it scratched the muffler up pretty good. It was only like that for about 20 minutes of driving time (literally) but it did some damage to the muffler that I hope polishes out.
If you don't have access to torches you can take the car to a muffler shop and tell them that you need your exhaust bent. They'll heat it up right on the car and bend it for you for $15-$20. |
