98 GTP starting problems

hey this is my first post on this forum and i had a question
i just bought a 1998 GTP a couple of days ago and noticed taht it has some trouble starting and oyu need too hit the gas a bit when u are starting it up coule anybody please tell me what the problem is and how i can fix it

That's a loaded question. The first thing I would try is plugs, wires, fuel filter and pcv valve (a basic tune-up). If the wires have the cylinder numbers on them, that means they are original and overdue for replacement. If all that has been done (and quality parts were used), you'll need to check for proper fuel pressure at the rail with a fuel pressure guage and post back.
