2000 Montana drivers side signal light problem

Here is my dilemma, I have a 2000 Pontiac Montana and the following are the symptoms(please keep in mind light bulb is okay):

1) drivers side signal light doesn't work, I put a volt meter on it no amperage in socket, then i tested wires going into socket(thinking bad socket) but no amperage in wires leading to socket.

2) When i turn the marker lights on (turn knob on dash to middle) the light on drivers side works!!!

3) Daytime running lights once car is started lights come on automatically. (in Canada it is mandatory) The drivers side light does not work!!

Can anyone suggest a fix, this thing is absolutely driving me crazy !!! Thank you very much for any help at all !!!!!!!

Re: 2000 Montana drivers side signal light problem

Check for the ground return from the lights on the side that does not work, both front and rear. RUn a separate ground wire fron the light cluster to engine block. THis problem has been reported several times and the rear light clusters are specially prone to corrosion .
