Question Exhaust Questions - Whatcha Got?

I am looking to buy an exhaust but I'm a little lost. I have a 94 CX hatch that I will be swapping in a D16z6 and eventually turboing. Basically I am looking to find an exhaust that will work for my application but I dont want something that sounds like crap Any ideas? Thanks

Re: Exhaust Questions - Whatcha Got?

You should wait until you do the swap and turbo before you buy a new exhaust. Otherwise you'll just have to rig it up to fit the new header for the Z6, and then again for the down pipe for the turbo. After that, it depends on how much power you're going to be looking for. If you're going to turbo the stock block with only 5-8psi, then a 2.5" would be enough. But if you're going to build the engine and use quite a bit of boost, then go with at least a 3" exhaust. You're best bet would be to either buy a piping kit (something like kteller.com) or get a good quality and legit 3" exhaust like the one made by Thermal Research & Development.

Re: Exhaust Questions - Whatcha Got?

I like that idea of only doing it once My concern is (I havent checked this) that the stock CX exhaust piping is too small for the z6. I figured if I just went and got the exhaust then I wouldnt have to worry about it but I didnt think about the different downpipes. Thanks for the insight.
