stalling when its hot outside!?!

Hi,

I was just curious if anyone knew anything or could help with this situation i've been having.

I have a '93 ford crown vic.

Last summer it was a very hot July day in KS. We were at a birthday party at the park and because it was so hot needed some water. We got in the car drove 1/2 to the gas station with the AC on max full blast. I left the car running at the gas station with the AC running Max full blast. when I came out of the gas station the vehicle was still running but after putting it in reverse the gas did not "engage" or make it go anywhere for about 30 seconds, but the car never died.

It might have happened another time or 2 or something that summer, but all winter it ran fine (bassicly as long as its below 90-95 degrees outside). Well, here we are July again and it was 102 or something of the likes this last Saturday. There we were pulling out of dillions I believe and it happened again but it seemed longer. I would push on the gas and it just didn’t move this went on for a minutes or so then it slowly started to rev up and off we went like normal and nothing was wrong.

It seems the only time this happens is if we have been driving for at least 30 min in the heat, then pull in somewhere where we are just in for a few minutes, like the gas station. Then get in start it up and try to leave. It just takes a min or so for the gas to rev the engine and accelerate. I look at the temp gauge and its where its supposed to be (as well as all the other gauges). Sometimes I do get check engine light but it never seems to be at the same time as this problem.

Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

It "could" very well be a a temp sensor, your car has two, one for the temp gauge and another that the computer gets its readings from. A good starting point is your check engine light. Get the car scanned and run KOEO, KOER tests and see what comes up........
