Strange Problem with '90 Chevy Suburban

1990 Chevy R-1500 Suburban 2wd, 5.7L auto

I was driving down the highway this morning and turned the ac from off to max with the blower on high and the engine cut out and the check engine and brake light also came on and the speedometer started moving around. This lasted for about 2 seconds and then everything was normal. I turned off the ac and turned the blower down a notch and then turned to ac back on and no problems so I shut the ac off, turned the blower on high and turn the ac to max and the problems repeated. Is this an electrical problem? Alternator? Any help would be appreciated. Not sure if a code was registered. I will check.

Look for bad connections. Battery terminals, positive and negative electrical conections and loose terminals going to and from the dash.
