'89 Lesabre Oil Temp Light

I have a '89 LeSabre that recently the light with the oil can and "temp" under it flashed on and the off. The first time I thought maybe it was a fluke but it has done it a couple more times now. I checked the oil level and it is fine. I don't have the owners manual. Any ideas?

Wild shot in the dark here, but both lights come on during the "bulb check" phase at startup. Perhaps there's a short of osme type in the ignition swtich/column.
