76' Chevy ?

i have a 76' chevy scottsdale bonanza pickup its a longbed which kinda sucks but ok there this dude in my town and he has a 88(not sure on year) ford pickup shortbed reg cab and like he wants to race me and i know he will win so like what i am wondering is what would i need to do to make my truck relitively fast.... oh i have a 350 with a turbo 350 trans and a two barrel which sucks....... he has as far as i know a 5.0l with gt40 heads and i dk how much else maybe a cam dk for sure but i wanna smoke him so he will SHUT UP i am sick of it anyway any answers would be nice .......

We do not condone street racing here, sorry. Not only is it illegal (and can get your vehicle taken from you and crushed in some states), but it's dangerous.

i am willing to go to the drags i mean its safer and ya smarter i just dont know if it is possible for my truck to be fast
