Question Will this hold air?

Just bought a rim used. I know it is not bent, but this worries me a little.
Will the rim hold air? If not, is this fixable?

Thanks.

Re: Will this hold air?

Oh, it will hold air, but the damage to the rim is going to damage the tire in 2 ways:

1) The sharp edges are going to cut into the sidewall.

2) The rim flange supports the sidewall as the tire rolls through the footprint. The damage pictured is going to allow the tire to flex more in that area. Not only will this cause a vibration, but over-flexing in one area may lead to a tire separation.

You can get these repaired, but it is pretty expensive. So unless these are high dollar rims, I'd buy a replacement.
