Question 99 Venture Unlock powered door buttons are not working

A couple days ago the unlock powered doors button of my van has stopped working, but lock is working properly. I have checked fuses and I test both buttons with a multitester and everything is ok. Any Ideas??

Re: Venture 99 unlock doors not working

wires for door locks run into a splice on rt frt of van under carpet, due to leak in rt frt wheel well seam water gets into vehicle and gets into wiring corroding splices, need to cut open harness on rt frt floor under carpet and find broken splice and repair then seal up seam at rt frt floor area at lower corner of wheel well, good luck

Re: Venture 99 unlock doors not working

Lately I've noticed the carpet on the passenger side by the door and under the dash being very, I mean very, wet. Living in Houston, especially this summer, where it is raining almost every day. I thought I had a leak, or plugged drain, in the evaporator core housing but I can't find a problem. If it is this "seam" in the wheel well. Can you describe where it is (the "seam"/weld in question) and the best way to seal it that you know of?

The reason I asked is that my drivers door unlock no longer works. All other doors are fine, just the drivers door. The switch is OK, I replaced it thinking that was the problem. The manual says to look for the short/open in the circuit, which I understand that there is a junction under the carpet on the passenger side.

Re: Venture 99 unlock doors not working

I pulled back the carpet on the passenger side and everything was soaked. The wire bundle was sitting in a trough full of water. I found the bad un-lock circuit splice and repaired, along with two others. The un-lock works fine now.

I siliconed the @$%@ out of the seam along the wheel well, both inside and out. I've still got the carpet pulled up drying - it is really wet.

Re: Venture 99 unlock doors not working

when you pull the carpet back on the right front side youll see where the floor meets the rt side panel follow seem sealer down to floor rt in that point where floor starts is where seam sealer usually has void, we use 3m auto body seam sealer in our shop comes in a tube for caulk gun, hope this helps

Re: Venture 99 unlock doors not working

Should be the white, it has been awhile since I repeired mine. There should be a splice under the carpet, 2 into 1.

Re: Venture 99 unlock doors not working

yea i just jumped all the wires from the switch to the BCM and it was the white wire, however whoever tried to fix the wiring there was a green wire attached to the white (unlock) on the BCM removed the corroaded wire, fixed that connection, and found a nother broken connection on the driver side which is now working, now 2 problems down 1 to go

Re: Venture 99 unlock doors not working

BTW, my water problem was not the wheel well seam, as I stated in an earlier post, it was the AC evaporator drain. The leader hose from outside the firewall had fallen off and the water was getting back inside the firewall and soaking the carpet. Went to the auto parts store, found a 5/8 inch hose with a 90 Degree bend, cut it too length and hose clamped it on, no more water in the carpet.
