Mitsu 3000GT SL

I have a '91 Mitsu 3000GT SL which is in great shape but has not been driven for over five years. It was parked in the driveway with car cover. I'm planning on activating the car. I have average knowledge and experience working on automobiles but I want to get some pointers on what to do first before attempting to start the car such as draining the gas tank and putting in fresh fuel, replace oil and filter, replace coolant, etc. What's the best way to recirculate oil without starting the engine?

Thanks

Re: Mitsu 3000GT SL

You can pull the ECI fuse and crank it. It wont let the car fire up but jsut crank it over. Once you crank it a few seconds you should have oil pressure built enough to put the fuse back in and fire it up. Id also replace the plugs and wires while you are at it.

I'd change the Fuel filter also, but its a PAIN! And Id prob also look at the fuel pump andthe lillte screen that attaches to it, very easy on these cars there is a hatch in the trunk. Good luck man, hope it runs for you.

Re: Mitsu 3000GT SL

Thanks for the pointers gents. It's a 91 Mitsu 3000GT SL. It belongs to my daughter-in-law and she wants to sell it or trade it in. I wish I was much younger as I'd keep it and really fix it.

Yeah definately change the fuel filter too with the gas sitting in there for such a long time. Like liquidpunk said it is a pain because odds are you will bust your hands and knuckles up and then you'll be part of our little bloody knuckles from chaning the fuel filter crew.

Re: Mitsu 3000GT SL

This model has an R12 A/C system. I will have to convert it to R134. Other than installing R134 adapters and vacating the system before charge, is it necessary to replace the accumulator drier also?
