New car

I just bought a Lamborghini LP500 from a local doctor who bought it new but was afraid to drive it or so he says . I paid 70,000 for it . It has 12,000 miles on it and has been kept in the garage for most of its life . It drives great and is in great shape . My questions are as follows .

1) I have been told I need a special mecanic if so how might I find one who knows what he needs to know ?

2) After being stored for so long is there anything specific I should have checked ?

3) The guy I bought it from tells me the parts that where replaced to make it legal in the US where " unreplaced " after he picked it up . Is this something I should worry about ? Also if anybody knows what parts these are and the reason for replacing them would be nice to.

Any other things I should know please fell free to let me know ..

Travis

dont worry about the parts that have been removed!
maybe you should check the electric sistem!
and make an oil change since it was stoped for very long time it may not be running 100 percent perfect!

Countach work

Travis,

There are a few things you need to be aware of with regard to the Countach and what to do to make the car run its best and ensure that nothing is wrong, or potentially wrong. Countach's can be prone to certain types of issues when left undriven for long periods of time.

There are several questions that I would ask about the current condition of the car, how long has it been since it has been started (and how often while in storage), how often was it driven and how many miles has the car driven in the last 2-3 years.

There is a long list of other questions that I would like to ask that could trigger any number of things to check or service.

Before replacing any fluids, it is important that you find somewhere you can lift the car in the air to see underneith. Carefully inspect for any leak indications; tranny fluid, engine oil, or coolant. The Countach is famous for leaking engine oil and coolant. Upon thoroughly checking for leaks, this will tell you the need for any serious repairs.

Usually, what I see is both engine oil and coolant leaks. First things to do are replace all gaskets for the oil leak and try again. The coolant is a little more tricky and could be minor, could be more serious (though typically not terminal).

As a standard rule, I would highly recommend changing the oil in the engine, check the transmission fluid level, and replace the coolant.

Continue to watch for leaks and study where they are coming from exactly.

I do not know a mechanic in Maine, but I can probably direct you on what work to be done. PM me if you would like any specific questions answered.

Do be careful on selecting a mechanic. A mechanic will "Make-or-Break" the exotic car ownership experience. A bad one will really make ownership a bad experience. A good one makes all the difference.

Hope this helps.

Laraki Fulgara

The Laraki Fulgara is a fairly new edition to the startup supercar list. It is not largely publicized yet, but has gotten some magazine coverage. Its performance is quite impressive. It uses a 6.0 liter V12 that is naturally aspirated that puts out 720hp. Not bad.

As far as looks, it has a very close resemblence to the Ferrari 360 coupe. As for RHD, I have heard rumors that the company plans to build cars for the UK and Australia, but no confirmation on when. I am not certain of the price of the car.

Hope that helps. Sorry to dilute the Countach thread.

Laraki Engine

I neglected to mention that the engine that powers the Fulgara is the Lamborghini V12. It is essentially the same motor as produced for the Diablo 6.0.
