Exclamation Warning: you'll be annoyed with me if you read this thread *NO PICS*

I finished a kit, but I don't have pics... :finger: :o

It's the Tamiya WRX STi kit, de-STi-ed. No STi badges, no blue trim for the interior. It's black on black (with some grey. ) Basically, it's built how I'd like the real car, if I had one...

I swaped out the gold wheels for the 8-tuning-fork wheels from the Revell ITR kit. (Walter- What did you say they were called again?) They're painted gun metal with a chrome lip. I got them to fit onto the kit brakes, with the calipers painted black instead of gold. I didn't lower the kit, though I thought about it, because I wouldn't lower the real thing...

This was sort of a quick (!) practice-my-technique kit, and it served it purpose well. It's my best polishing job to date; I'd rate it about 80%. I coulda gone further, but I guess the primer was a bit rough, so I would sand through to it in speckled patches. Arrgh!!! It would probably look even better

It's also the first car I've put seatbelts in, and they turned out great, if not completely accurate. I've found I had more interior shots than I thought, after the fact. Anyway, the buckes are a MCG p/e set, and I made the belts and latches out of tape or cardstock, colored black (with red release buttons...) :coolguy:

Despite it being a kit of a JDM car, I decided to put California plates on it, mainly so I could use my scotchlite trick for them. But since RHD care are extremely rare around here, I wanted something other than a normal issue plate. So, after poking around on www.calpl8s.com/ ( cool site!), I used a dealer plate. I took one displayed on the site and rearranged some of the numbers to make plate number dlr_19555_3A at a huge resolution, something like 1200 dpi.

Then I printed it with a high-quality color laser-jet at a size of 1"x0.5" on my scotchlite stock. It came out great!!

So, sorry; no pics! :o I'll have to borrow another camera soon....

Well, the other day I heard the first five planets of the solar system were aligned, so that must mean something extremely rare and exciting had happened...then I looked here! :finger: :finger:

j/k

Can't wait to see pics I think those 8 tuning fork rims are just knockoffs of the OZ Novas..

Jay, I thought they looked like the Work RS-Beta rims from around 1993 or 1994, but these don't have as many spokes.

Here's a Pic:

Jay's license plate with the scotch lite trick works really well. I got to meet Jay in person and see some of his stuff.

Sorry, but like I said, I no longer have a camera at my disposal. I'll borrow one again, soon... Or get someone to bring one to work...

Hmm... I was looking at some older Work wheels and thought the VS-MX came pretty close, actually...

Not exactly, but close...

Which, in turn, paled next to your stuff... :o

My first batch of reflectorized plates had the plate design printed on clear sheet, then layered over a piece of scotchlite cut from an address number (like from the front of your house or mailbox.) They looked good, but it was hard to find a good way to affix them together. I rememeber I used white glue, clear lacquer and Future to do them, but I don't remember which of those three was the one that actually turned out well and ended up on my MR2....

This time, I got brave, and just taped the scotchlite to a piece of paper and ran it through the printer. Good times! :smoka:

The only pic I have so far is from about 4 months ago, when I was still deciding on the wheels...

Unhappy Don't feel bad...

I've finished 2 models just this week but I haven't taken pictures yet; I haven't had decent weather to take some good pics. I finished my R-33 and a Toyota Carina ED Autopista. I messed up on the Skyline but I'm not that upset about it anymore Pics will come later this week or early next. I don't know what color to paint the R-34 below. I do have a set of Zeit Version Rs painted Gunmetal with yellow lettering decals. Any suggestions? Oh, Jay we want pics!!!( I'm such a hypocrite!)
