Disabling DRL

I would like to disable my DRL in my 98 malibu. I read that pulling the whole connector off the BCM would disable the lights as well as the ebrake light in the dash which I want. On the BCM there are 3 pins, which pin do i pull? And when I pull the pin does the battery have to be disconnected?? I have to pass my Viriginia Safety inspection, and the e-brake light is stuck on, and it wont pass inspection because of this. The easiest way would be to disconnect the pin, just wary on which on it is and if battery has to be connected or disconnected.

Re: Disabling DRL

between the front bumper and the rad, there is a ceramic resistor for the drl's. if you disconnect this, the drl's will be disabled, however, the check engine light will come on with no codes. I took one of the wires from the bcm and grounded it as well to turn the check engine light off. As for the brake light, is it only the brake light, or is it also the abs light?? If it's just the brake light, chances are the brake fluid is low, signalling that you most likely need brakes. There is a float sensor in the resivoir that can stick in the down position. If you top the brake fluid up and the light is still on, smack the side of the resivoir to get the float to pop back up.

yeah I did check the fluid, and the e-brake light has been on for 3 years, and was thinking it would be easier to pull a wire then replace the sensor in the master cyclinder. Not really sure how easy it is to do that or how much of a pain it is to chance the sensor.

Re: Disabling DRL

Before you try that, make sure the brake fluid is topped right off, then smack the side of the resivoir, just don't brake it. If that doesn't work then unplug the switch. If the light is still on, then jump the plug with a paperclip. If the light is still on then obviously another problem, good luck!
