1999 1.3 Timing Marks

Hello all, I just replace the 8 exhaust valves in the 1.3 ltr engine. Ive read all the threads to page 45 on how to set the timing. I see lots about a notch and marks here and there. my cyl head has no notch on the timimg belt cover. anyone have any idea where i should set the cam gear? i have the gm manual for this, and it looks nothing like it. looks like they copyed and paisted the 3 cyl set up?????? thanks for reading.

Would it be possible for you to post some pictures, so that we can have a look at what you are seeing? I feel pretty certain that once we cast our eyes on it someone here has got to be able to point it out for you.

Re: 1999 1.3 Timing Marks

Hello All, Thanks For The Replys. I Found The Notch! Since I Had The Head Off, I Put The Vavle Cover In The Trunk With All The Other Parts Not In Use. Well, Needless To Say, When I Pulled Out The Valve Cover To Install A New Gasket-----what'dua Know... The Notch.
The Engine Runs Great Now. It Just Seems To Have A Hunting Problem. My Guess Is The Aic Is Lazy Since The Car Ran So Long On Only 3 Cyl. Anyhow, Thanks Again
