Question regarding wrong fluids - poll
I want to know if anyone has ever had FIRST hand experience with a mechanic they took their car to (dealer or independent garage) putting any type of oil or other fluids into the brake master cylinder or brake system.
We are not talking about the wrong brake fluid here, but some type of oil instead, motor oil, gear oil, etc. By first hand experience I mean it was your car that it happened to and it was done by a garage/mechanic that you took your car to regularly. Also, I'd like to know if you would believe that the same mechanic could make this mistake and not know about it. I'll post an explanation after some responses. Thank you. |

Re: Question regarding wrong fluids - poll
To the person who voted "yes and they lied about it" care to tell the story about what happened, how you found out, and how you figured out they lied about it?

Re: Question regarding wrong fluids - poll
Any half witted, shade tree mechanic should know better than that, much less a (Pro Mechanic). Anyone who would do anything like adding something other than brake fluid to their brake system, is definately not a mechanic of any measure!!!
