CEL and 2 codes

Hello all, i'm new here and just picked up a 96 Maxima with a CEL on. I went to Advance Auto and it pulled 2 codes--PO150 and PO325. O2 and knock sensor. From looking around the forum here, it looks as though the knock sensor isnt that big a deal(and prob. on due to the o2 sensor). Do the O@ sensors really go often in these? Car has 123k on it, and runs very good imo. It does have a slight hesitation off the line, but other than that, she scoots pretty good. Any help would be great. Thanks all,
Chris.

Re: CEL and 2 codes

I'm not really worried about the labor end of it, i'm pretty capable that way, i would just like to know what the problem is before i start chasing ghosts. $200 isn't that bad considering. The part is prob. $100 or better and then labor....

Re: CEL and 2 codes

CEL lights will go out after so many start sequences and no condition present. Sorry to tell you they usually come right back on. Knock sensor comes in usually because another code is set already. O2 sens. is not a big job, go to http://www.oxygensensors.com/ order it up and replace it. About like a nasty spark plug to change. You do need the special socket for it.

Re: CEL and 2 codes

Actually, i have the socket, and i've chamged them before. I'm just hoping it was a result of a bad batch of gas, or some bad driving habits of the previous owner. If it doesn't go off in the next couple days, i'll just buy the sensor.

Re: CEL and 2 codes

I would replace knock sensor first, and then reset the CEL and see if it comes back on again. 123k definitely needs to repalce it. Only $65 shipped from ebay, and you can DIY. A small pair of hands would come in handy as well.
