2001 Dodge pick up steering
I have a 2001 dodge 2500 diesel. I have been having problems with the steering. At an idle the truck is very hard to turn to the right. To the left is fine. When the truck is cold it works for a while then gets hard when it warms up. While driving at a higher speed it works fine. Took it in and had a new pump put on but that did not fix the problem. The mechanic is stumped as I am. Any thoughts????

Re: 2001 Dodge pick up steering
I agree with Rockwood84. You might try letting somebody turn the steering wheel with the motor running and foot off the brake while you look for anything unusual under the front of the truck (after taking the usual safety precautions, trans. in park, parking brake set).

Re: 2001 Dodge pick up steering
almost sounds like the intermediate shaft but that would have a tight spot in any direction
